This is the official discussion thread for the cause Outer Banks Repeater Association. Its EIN is 47-0905728 and it's a public charity based in Nags Head, NC. Research more info about the cause on GuideStar and Charity Navigator.

We provide communications in times of public need, including disasters and public utility outages.

This all-volunteer group provides emergency communication assistance when other county methods may fail, in the event of Internet failure, downed powerlines, etc. during bad weather events, all too frequent on the OBX. The Outer Banks Voice (6/19/2023) detailed examples of the many ways this avid group has supported local emergency operations throughout the county.
